YOUR PRESENCE IS NEEDED:

ATTEND THE JUNE 11 ZONING HEARING ON THE RIVERSTONE SOLAR PROJECT

Buckingham County residents and landowners are called on to attend a critical Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) hearing on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to demand transparency and equal enforcement of the law regarding the Riverstone Solar project.

This vital hearing will determine whether County officials improperly allowed the project to continue after the developer failed to meet a strict, legally mandated two-year deadline to submit its building permit application—rendering its original 2022 Special Use Permit "null and void."

While officials claim the project was automatically extended under a COVID-era relief statute, appellants point out that the law strictly excludes permits created after July 2020. This case is about more than just one solar array; it is about government accountability, public trust, and ensuring that corporate developers are held to the exact same rules and deadlines as ordinary citizens. Your presence in the room is vital to send a clear message that the Buckingham community expects fairness, openness, and strict adherence to the law.
