The Nelson County Citizens Information Forum connects residents with experts to tackle the issues that matter most—housing, energy, technology, and more. Monthly meetings rotate across the county, are recorded on Zoom, and give everyone a chance to get accurate information, ask questions, and build a stronger, more informed community together.

Understanding Electricity Generation and Demand in our County

Wednesday, April 30th 6-7:30pm

at the Nelson Center in Lovingston
 

Topics covered will include current and projected energy demand and generation, financial impacts, environmental impacts, an update of impacts of current legislation, and where and how energy gets to us in Nelson County.

Questions for panelists will be collected from attendees during the first half of the event.

We will be joined by CVEC president Gary Wood, and Attorneys Josephus Allond and Elizabeth Putfark from SELC. A diverse group of speakers will round out a panel for discussion. Click here to watch a recording of the event.

The Importance of Water - use and future projections

Learn from experts about how we get our water, uses, systems, current and projected demand, and what the future of water looks like in our county. 

Questions for panelists will be collected from attendees during the first half of the event.

We will be joined by board members of the Nelson County Service Authority, local geologist and historian Dick Whitehead, and John Pierce and Mckayla Branham of the Monacan Indian Nation.
